Porcelain panels in a ventilated facade are held by clamps — visible or hidden — resting on vertical T profiles. Profiles are placed at every panel joint, so the subframe volume depends directly on the format: 600×600 mm panels need more profile than 1200×600 mm.
The calculator counts panels with a cutting reserve, clamps (row + starter), T and L profiles, brackets, wool in one or two layers, wind membrane and fixings. The ventilation gap between wool and panels is at least 30–40 mm with free airflow from plinth to eaves.
Facade porcelain (usually 600 × 600 or 600 × 1200 mm, 8–11 mm thick) is mounted on an aluminium subframe with clamps — stainless steel clips holding the tile by its edges. The norm: 4 clamps per tile (one per corner), with load-bearing start clamps at row starts and openings. For 600 × 600 tiles that is ~11 clamps/m²; for 600 × 1200 — ~5.6/m².
Subframe: brackets ~2 pcs/m² (at 600 mm profile centres), vertical T-profiles under vertical joints. An 8 mm tile weighs ~19 kg/m², so anchors are selected per wall material with pull-out testing. Joints 4–6 mm; wool + membrane + 30–40 mm ventilation cavity, as in other rainscreen systems. Cutting waste around openings — allow 8–12%.
Materials with the subframe — about €70–110/m² (tile €15–35/m² plus clamps, profiles, wool); installation €45–65/m². In Latvia €120–170/m² overall.
Facades above 2 storeys use mechanical clamp fixing only. Bonded systems (no visible clips) need certified adhesive and factory priming and cost more — they are rare in Latvia.

Facade porcelain absorbs < 0.5% water, so frost does not harm it. The risk is badly adjusted clamps — an over-tightened tile can crack under thermal movement.
