For lengthwise laying the laminate cutting reserve is 5–7%; diagonal laying needs at least 10%. An 8–10 mm expansion gap is left along all walls, later covered by skirting. Underlay (2–3 mm) is laid perpendicular to the plank direction with butted, non-overlapping joints.
