For a strip footing, concrete volume is based on the total strip length (perimeter), width and depth. The calculator is pre-set for a typical 30 m × 0.4 m × 0.6 m strip — get concrete volume in m³, plus formwork and PE film.
Enter your own dimensions; you can switch to cement, sand and gravel if mixing concrete yourself.
An 8 × 6 m slab at 120 mm thickness has a net volume of 5.76 m³. When ordering ready-mix, allow a small reserve for dimensional variation, pumping losses and an uneven base; the calculator lets you change this allowance.
For strip foundations enter the total length of every section, actual width and concrete depth. Concrete class, reinforcement, cover and movement joints cannot be determined by a volume calculator alone.
Divide millimetres by 1000. For example, 120 mm = 0.12 m.
A few percent is often enough for a simple accurately formed element. Uneven bases or complex formwork may need more.
No. Strength class, consistency, frost resistance and other properties are set by the design and exposure conditions.
